As a new blogger, it is sometimes overwhelming all the things out there that you can join up with. I found this really cute and fun one called currently from Oh' Boy 4th Grade.
So here's my first shot at it:
B2S Must Haves
1. New school supplies. I think I get more excited when school supplies come out in stores than I do when Christmas decorations come out! It has always been my favorite time of year, even as a little girl. I love to shop for new school supplies!!
2. It's tradition in our house to get a brand new outfit to wear on the first day of school. And my kids know that there will be tons of pictures taken on the front porch in their new outfits!
3. Currently I'm obsessed with owls and am loving all the owl stuff they have EVERYWHERE - especially my favorite place Mardel.
Need to know how to link up?? Thank you Jen at The Teacher's Cauldron for leaving these directions on how to link up. Otherwise, I'd still be clueless!!
(Note - I know NOTHING about Macs, sorry!)
Tips...
1. Right click and copy her template
2. Open Power Point (or I use publisher) and insert (or paste) the image.
3. Create text-boxes and type in your answers.
4. Copy all (cntrl A) and paste into Paint
5. Save as a jpeg
6. Upload the image to your blog :)
RULES...
1. RULE OF 3... if you link up I ask that you go and look at the 2 in front of your link and the one after you AND comment... this SPREADS the LOVE for sure!!! and it was a HUGE success last time :)
2. on the B2S must haves... I am completely OK with you promoting one of your store items HERE... BUT if you promote one of yours I am asking that you also promote someone else too... so if you think you have an item that someone JUST has to have for B2S go ahead and PLUG IT but please PLUG from another store too...
3. there are several people that have fab tutorials on how to create a Currently and link it back...
Jen is one of them... if you are not sure how to do this ... please PLEASE head on over to
Hey there! Found ya via Farley's rule of 3! Welcome to the bloggy world. My favorite thing was taking pics of my kids in their new school clothes on the first day of school. I miss that! If you find someone that will come clean your house - would you send them to mine when they're done? :D

Thanks! I am glad you found me and now I am your newest follower! I ended up having to clean my house myself today. Dear hubby decided to host a bbq for our closest friends and only gave me 4 hours notice! YIKES! Luckily they are our closest friends and don't mind a little clutter! But I did get a lot accomplished. :) I look forward to reading your blog!
DeleteHi Katie:
ReplyDeleteI found you through Farley's Rule of Three...
And here's the best part (for me at least): I just became your newest follower... and I am so excited because I teach sixth grade too!
I hope you'll stop by my blog as well, because us "big kid blogs" need to stick together.
So glad we were Currently "link-up neighbors"...

Finding JOY in 6th Grade
Big kid blogs DO need to stick together!! I love it when I find fellow sixth grade teachers out there! Can't wait to read all your ideas!!
DeleteYour Currently sounds similar to mine! No I didn't peek! I forgot to mention new outfit! I do that too! Then I take pictures of my girls together, separate, with my husband who is coming off the night shift (that shot is not pretty ) and then a picture with me. It is a great start to the new school year to have that morning memory.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower. I teach Special Ed 6th-8th Literacy. I look forward to reading and sharing!

Teise's Tidbits
I taught special ed for 7 years!!! 6-8 resource math and English! I chose to take take a much needed break (mainly from the mounds of paperwork!) and give regular ed a shot. I am also your newest follower! :)
DeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteFound you through Farley's blog hop. I'd love to have you hop over and check out my blog. Looks like we're in the same frame of mind this month with watching the Olympics and trying to get things ready for back to school. I've been procrastinating shopping for back to school outfits, but I can't put it off much longer. :)
